Tim was so learned

"Tim was so learned, that he could name a horse in nine Languages.  So ignorant, that he bought a cow to ride on." I like this quote by Ben Franklin because it makes no since.  Ben had said that Tim was really smart and could talk in nine different languages.  Then he says that Tim was ignorant or stupid because he bought a cow to ride on which would not be smart because they are slow and do not really move.  This really does make since though, because maybe Tim actually is smart and cow is just the name of a horse but in a different language.
