Anne Bradstreet was truly a great poet of her time. Her poems often were about love or a relationship. Reading poems can show you a glimpse into the past, to see into the minds of the people living then. All of these posts with poems and about poems has given me the inspiration to write my own poem about more modern times.
Roses are violet,
Red is blue.
I happen to have
a worn-out shoe.
The elections were going swell,
really quite well,
until we hit the bump
that is Donald Trump.
The debt is high
the end is nigh.
I don't know about you
but I've still got that worn-out shoe.
Yes I agree she does write a lot of her poems about love and relationship. Also your poem is awesome and perfectly describes more modern times.
