Actions Speak
Benjamin Franklin once said, "Well done is better than well said". This is a very true statement. It reminds me of one of Mark Twain's most famous quotes - "Action speaks louder than words but not nearly as often." Humans are good talkers. We say things, but often we do not act on our words. Whether this is in reference to politicians who say things and don't back them up. Or it could be a friend who says they will do something for you and never does. It could be someone saying they love and care for you but never show you their affection. Maybe it's you in reference to God. Do you just say that you love him, say that you'll do something, but don't show him it is true? (I ask because this is me most of the time). James 1:22 says, "be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." When we let our words do the speaking, we really are only deceiving ourselves into thinking they are genuine. God see's right through it.
