The two post-Puritan works that we have read so far have dealt with a secret sin. We witness how people go to great lengths to keep the sin hidden. Today is no different. People are definitely not open about their wrongdoings. But, why? I see it in other people, as well as in myself; people simply don't want to be judged. They don't want to have to deal with other people's ignorant opinions. Sometimes, they just don't want help. They don't want to be put in a "category" or walk around with a name that someone chose for them. Which is why, most people today walk around tightly bottled up inside. This surely isn't right (and not really healthy). The world and the church would be so much more different today if we were all honest and open with each other, while not being condemning.
Luke 6:37
Do not judge, and you will not be judged; and do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; pardon, and you will be pardoned.
idk i think because people are so judgmental it'd be hard to make/keep friends if we were all completely open. we judge people on their appearance, imagine if we gave people more of a reason to hate others
