We were talking in class on Tuesday about why Florida is so weird. There's a Twitter account called Florida Man that aggregates crazy Florida news stories. Google returns lots of results for the query why is Florida so weird? A libertarian candidate for Marco Rubio's Senate seat is getting attention for his white supremacist views and, oh yes, the fact that he sacrificed a goat and drank its blood as part of his adherence to an obscure pagan religion.

For your blog post, write about Florida, or any other distinctive state. Florida may be known for being weird: do any other states have their own unique reputations? For ideas, type the following into Google: "why is [state] so." Autocomplete will suggest what most people are searching for when they wonder about Texas, or California, or New Jersey, or Maine.

Alternately, you can write two Florida news stories: one real and one fake. In the comments, we can guess which one actually happened.
