The Internet Hates All the States

Florida may seem super crazy and get a bad reputation, but there bad stereotypes for all the states. Just by typing a state's name into the google search bar you can see what people think about all the other states. A few of them I looked up are:


Why is Georgia...

So racist?
So boring?
So bad?

Why is California...

So dry?
So strict on guns?
all liberals? 

Why is Maine...

So white?
So weird?
So poor?

Now there is obviously some truth to these questions, but they are not universally true for the whole state and its people. Im pretty sure that Im not a racist and Georgia may not be a Hawaii or a California but I don't think its that boring. While it may sometimes seem like it, California isn't completely composed of liberals. I don't know too much about Maine other than I imagine mooses and snow all year around when I picture it, but Im sure its not that weird. Also I don't know if people are asking "Why is Maine so White?" as a racial question or as weather question.

I can't really speak for all the people who made comments about these states, but I am going to speculate that most of the people who asked these questions don't actually live in the state their asking about. They probably either visited there or already had stereotype driven into their head through the media.  But the bottom line is that we reaffirmed the internet is a curious place where people are aloud to ask offensive questions without being considered ignorant or judgemental.
