THIS IS A TRUE STORY

It was a dark, cold late-October night. The air was crisp and chilled right to the bone. We had spent the last few hours getting lost in the the seemingly endless fields of corn, and now it was time to enter the scariest place little 14 year-old me had ever been: the haunted corn maze. As we stood in line I found myself contemplating how I--the girl who screams during horror movie trailers at the movie theater--had gotten talked into going anywhere with the word haunted in the name. "At least I'm not alone," I though to myself as I looked down at Hannah, who was cutting the circulation off in my arm with her nervous grip. "Don't worry," Dalton's reassuring voice was barely audible over the loud creepy haunted house music. I linked arms with Dalton and Hannah, and closed my eyes as I entered the maze. I was at the point of no return.

After stumbling through the misty entrance, I realized it was completely insane to walk through a maze with my eyes closed. Reluctantly, my eyes fluttered open. At first, I wasn't scared. In fact, Hannah and I ran and skipped and laughed through the first 5 minutes of it. I found that, for the most part, if I steered clear of the monsters, they'd steer clear of me.Well, I thought this until the unthinkable happened.

Hannah and I retreated back to our body guard as we saw the undead creatures wielding chainsaws lurking up ahead on the path. Our trio linked arms and started to walk forward, which was unfortunately our only option. When we got close to the roaring saws and their creepy owners, Hannah and I began to scream. I heard Dalton tell them to chase us as Hannah and I took off faster than the two of us had probably ever run in our lives. We sprinted through the rest of the maze with the chainsaws growling at our heels. Terrified, we ran into an old dilapidated shed-looking structure. More Zombies and blood-covered bodies jumped out at us, but all we could do was run forward.
And then finally, there was the end.
